The wedding day

Celebration in Gustaf Vasa Church, Odenplan, city center.

Transfer with taxis to the harbor (facing Stockholm's theatre "Dramaten") where a boat will be waiting for us.

Boat departure to the dinner location. Approximately one hour and a half to get there. Mingel on board.

 

19.00

Arrival to Stensnäs and check-in at the hotel for people who have booked a room.

'Apéritif' near the  'Sjösalen' room located nearby the water front. Diner followed by dancing  until sunset (or sunset which is  almost the same thing :-) .

 

 

 

 

Miscellaneous

 

- Sweden is part of the European Union so no visum is required for Europeans, only a valid passport. Others many contact their embassy to check. The local currency if not the Euro but the Swedish crown (1 euro is about 10 or 11 crowns ( noted SEK).

 A converter will give more precise figures.

 

- Dresscode: The Swedish term "Mörk kostym" implies that the gentlemen should wear a dark (black, grey or dark blue) suit, white shirt and a tie or bow tie of choice. The ladies can choose between a dress which is short or mid-length (preferably not long) or top and trousers/skirt in beautiful, party-like material.

 

- Food restrictions

There is a small beach just outside the party place, so for those of you who know you will be brave - remembe to bring your swimgear.

 

After dinner and coffee there will be a small bar open for those who wish to buy drinks. Remember to bring cash.

The ladies of honour and best men will help and support the bride and groom on the wedding day.

 

The toast masters will co-ordinate logistics and the dinner. Please contact them if you wish to speak or sing to the newlyweds or the guests.

Some practical info

 

How to get to Stockholm: 

 

- By Plane:

Many alternatives depending from where you are travelling of course, but  SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) is the most present airline flying to the nordic countries. Lower budget airlines include for example RyanAir 

 

Where to stay before/after the wedding:

 

- Many hotels are available in Stockholm, and it is recommended to book early.  Hotel Nortull (***) is the one we have already chosen for some family guests and offers double rooms for 1095 SEK including breakfast.

 

Where to stay for  the wedding night  (Stensnäs) ?

 

Stensnäs is a conference center situated near Åkersberga about 25 miles north of Stockholm. It includes a hotel as well as a youth hostel . We have pre-booked 50 rooms until mid-april and it is warmly recommended for our guests to stay overnight although it is possible to travel back to Stockholm through taxi and then trains from Åkersberga.

Double rooms are available for 1195 SEK,

Double rooms with sea view: 1395 SEK¨

Single rooms are 950 SEK

Single rooms with sea view are 1150 SEK.

Youth hostel rooms are 460SEK/person with possibility for an extra bed at the cost of 230 SEK.

Breakfast buffet is included.

 

How to get to the church?

 

The Gustaf Vasa Church is situated on Odenplan in the city centre (subway Odenplan as well as many busses).
